Horseshoe Hunt
2010 Results!
Congratulations to Cindy Immel for finding the horse shoe around 6:50am in the park(ing) lot on Grastvedt Lane. She is a staunch hunter and had her button registered. That's a $300 purse.
Clue #1 (Monday)
The Presidents will guide you to where the horseshoe hides
In another City Park, it now abides.
Many choices await you, so pick the right one.
Find the shoe, claim the money and have lots of fun.
Clue #2 (Tuesday)
Start your search around the boarder of this City Park.
Work your way to the center of this old landmark.
Enjoy the history that surrounds you as you look around.
Our president has led you to this well used ground.
Clue #3 (Wednesday)
Other Parks are named for City Fathers, who helped build our town
When you find how this one was named, you are sure to say Dang.
In this park, you will find walkers, and folks on bikes galore.
Seeking National Sites of History and tales of Ancient lore.
Clue #4 (Thursday)
The poet says the "middle" is the most beautiful place to be.
There our horseshoe hides under the skies, a block from the infamy.
Where a bullet riddles wall, in mute witness stands
To a man's indifference, to his fellow man.
Only a block from "Ground Zero" in a park with sun and shade,Not far from the beautiful statue, is where the horseshoe was laid.
Clue #5 (Friday)
In this park that is more functional, than one with playful things,
Do not expect to find seesaws, sliding boards or sets of swings.
As you walk across this well used park, you might find a pizza pie,
Or an old bike chain, or even...a lost...well worn...bow tie
Clue #6 (Saturday)
The artist says His statue is “Between Heaven and Earth.”
All (The) Saints on the parks east border surely enjoyed our mirth.
As did our Premier President (George), as he took you past our Unnammed park.
If we had told, in the first clue
The shoe was hidden in the City Park (ING LOT).
On Grastvedt Ln. between 4th and 5th Streets,
One block from where Heywood was shot.
You would have found the horseshoe, claimed the money
And been famous for a few days,
Until next year when we do it again,
And navigate, Tim’s cryptic ways.
